TV Transmitter to telecast area specific programmes as Site Continuity
station. Indian Space Research Organisation which was conducting
the experiment of the direct reception of TV Signals via satellite
under SITE scheme, handed over its community viewing scheme to
Doordarshan Kendra in the year 1977 which was subsequently transferred
to M.P.Govt.on 31.3.84.
The Kendra used to telecast
2 hrs.of programmes recorded at New Delhi. With effect from 1.6.1985.
Programmes were recorded at DDK, Raipur via satellite and played back
later as per schedule. With effect from 1.6.1987 this Kendra started
relaying the entire programs of DDK Delhi via satellite. On receipt
of ENG equipments this Kendra started telecasting a weekly programme
from 7.4.1989 for thirty minutes duration. Name of the programme was
“Navrang” Gradually the duration and days of telecast from
the Kendra increased.
Raipur has become a Capital Station. With the inauguration of
Earth Station and Regional News Unit on 20/09/2002 this Kendra
started originating its Regional transmission. At present this
Kendra originates and telecasts programmes for 4.00 hrs. between
1600hrs.and 2000 hrs for 6 days in a week i.e.Monday to Saturday
and 90 minutes of programmes
on Saturdays and Sundays from 6.30pm
to 8.00 pm. Out of 4.00 hours of transmission 30minutes programmes are
for Agriculture and allied subjects entitled “Bhuiyan Ke Goth”,
30minutes of Thematic Agriculture programmes for Mass media support
for Agriculture extension entitled “Krishi Darshan”.
This Kendra also produces
and telecasts Kalyani Programme of DCD of Directorate. The Fixed Point
chart of the Kendra comprises of programme for almost all the sections
of the people and as such telecasts Children’s programme, Youth
Programme, Women’s programme , Sports programme, Literary programmes
in addition to the regular serials, Dramas, Tele-films etc.
The New 10 KW BEL Mark
II Transmitter (VHF#5) for National Service was commissioned for regular
programme w.e.f.4.6.1990. A new 10 KW fully Solid State Thomcast T V
Transmitter (VHF#7) was installed and put into service w.e.f.15th August
1999. Presently, both the Transmitters (DD-I & DD-News) are found
to be working satisfactorily.
The present studio is
fully equipped with two nos.of Digital Cameras, Switcher, cool lights
Facility for video transfer over ISDN line – Vidilink system has
been provided between DDK Raipur and Jagdalpur for receiving Video clips
over ISDN line.
